The weather Saturday morning was beautiful here, so I met up with my good friend Jim Thiel for a morning of shooting at one of our favorite wet land areas. The morning started out pretty slow, not many birds just a few Killdeer, until a Virginia Rail poked its head out of the bushes. It looked to be a young Rail and it gave us lots of shooting for the next little while. Then all of a sudden a young Cooperís Hawk came out of nowhere and made a few passes at the Killdeer, without luck, and landed right out in front of us. It was great action shooting for the next Ĺ hour or so.
Couldn'tít have asked for a better morning. All shot with the D800, 500mm/f4 & TC1.4.
