Oh yeah, liking these Karl. Great detail, dof and gorgwah background. I guess the only nit and it is a personal preference nit I would have is the very oof flowers in the front left of the first ones...maybe a touch distracting since there are no others to that extreme...but other than crop them out or clone in other buds not sure what to do...
Eric
Thanks Eric Appreciate the nit and see the re-edit posted for genefixer. I was OK with it for reasons posted to Mike but apparently it is a bit more distracting then I saw it. Thanks for keeping me in check!

That's a pretty little butterfly Karl, all these shots are sharp and colourful. My chose of compositions are the straight-on look and the side, wings up view. Nice to see you back.
Rob
Thank you Rob on many accounts I think these all were with a pair of Canon Ext tubes on, I shot some without too but you can't beat getting in closer to fill the frame with this small subject. MFD of Canon 400 is about 12ft and that just wasn't working as well as I hoped, thankfully this gal stayed put for a nice long time.

Look at you Mr Steadyhands!!! Darn impressive buddy, 1/320 at 400 and no IS. Super techs on these, they are all sharp as a tack I love the comp of 2, that was a gift nature gave you and you had a sharp enough eye to see it I think 3 would be a stunner if the dingleberries on the left were not there but then again it's nature. The closing shot is marvelous, that baby has it all.
Super duper Karl
Tim
Yeah, me and my one-legged friend @ 1/320th . I'm old and shaky The pod is just enough to get the job done and not be too bulky to carry all the time.
It's kind of magical when you isolate a subject like this through that glass with tubes, like a kaliedescope in the viewfinder
Dingleberries have been neutered, see edit posted to genefixer.
Thanks tTim for the fine accolades on the last shot, I saw it happen and just hoped I was going to be OK on exposure and sharpness.........it worked

IMO- The second image is a perfect combination of the best parts of the butterfly AND the flower.
A surefire winner, Karl.

And I respect your opinion Charlie and I thank you for your pleasant comment sir!
Seems lots of nature and fine image opportunities is dependent upon flowers

All of these are tack sharp where they need to be Karl. I love the stare in 1, the angle in 3, but 4 is my pick for the great detail. And, of course, all have very nice comps ~ Ron
Wonderful to hear and thanks for the kudos on these buddy
Karl
Nice vantage points and cool combo of colorful flora and fauna! A delight! Might take some work to remove but that OOF bud in the lower part of #1 is just buggin' me! I tried cropping it out but the butter was then a bit cramped!
Mike
Saw this one as I was leaving the area and sat down to take advantage of it Mike. Butter just moved flower to flower and gave me lots of opps, lucky me
Re-worked for you..............
Thanks
Karl
