p.1 #1 · Car Promo Shots

Here's my own car. Shot with a Canon 7D and single 580EXII in slave mode where the 7D only triggered the 580EX but did not fire the onboard flash during the exposures. I took multiple shots with the 580EXII handheld at various locations, then merged them in Photoshop and did a curves adjustment, then desaturated/colorized everything but the car itself. Any comments/critique is appreciated!

That really makes the car pop. I like the first best but the sky and sunburst don't do anything for me, I would consider cropping it. Nice handling of light.

Hmm. Did I see this on Reddit? Anyways, I think the car looks great, but the sky is way overexposed, so if you shot in RAW, I'd tone it back quite a bit.

I quite like the way the color of the car stands-out. Consider darkening the walk and surrounding concrete:

try balancing the background and subject more, so you're not losing details in the background. it's currently too disjointed.

I like the way the car is exposed, it stands out. However, I don't like the amount of dark space and the blown out sun.

What I would try to do is shoot the car at a lower level to hide the dark background, and possibly do a lower exposure with the sun and blend the shots together. At least that would be what I would try, I'm not an expert at car photography.
