IMO you pretty much nailed the action, exposure and post processing on the images you posted above. The more I look at #3 the more I like it, maybe not as a team action photo for an autograph poster, but as a motocross action photo it works.
By comparison #6 needs just a little more PP to meet the standard you set in the other images especially when you compare it to #4 (of the same rider.)
Hats off to your overall exposures in 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9 as (in my monitor) they've held detail in both your "whites" and "blacks," which is easier said than done in any "offroad" racing action photography. Exposing for that sweet spot, just within the dynamic range of your camera's sensor, is always a challage outside the studio, GREAT JOB!

Steve, thanks for the detailed feedback, I appreciate you taking the time. I've enjoyed your ISDE coverage, you definitely know off road!
When shooting this session, I primarily looked for spots where there was sunlit spot within the trees and exposed for the rider and let the backgrounds fall where they may. Fortunately we shot just as the sun was going down so it wasn't terribly harsh. That soft light really made it work.
As for number 3, I was almost looking directly into the setting sun through the foliage. I guess because it looks so different is why I like it. It's definitely not one of the best, just one of the most unique from that evening. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the camera to be able to track focus. It was just one of let's just see what happens deals. Lol
Again, thanks for detailed input. I digested everything you noted.
