Back in the beginning of June I spent a week photographing birds in eastern Hungary. It was a superb week spent with amazing birds in a beautiful country. A very small selection below to give you a flavour. All the photos were taken from the network of hides in the Hortobagy National Park.
Many thanks for the comments which are appreciated. I really like what eastern Europe has to offer in terms of bird photography, so much so that I have already booked a return visit next year. My 2013 trip will be in to Romania which includes 3 days on a boat going around the wetlands of the Danube Delta
Many thanks for the replies. The marsh harrier in photo 15 was quite frustrating as it was up and down the reeds for most of the day to the right hand side of the hide. As all the hides are fitted with special one way glass and if the angle is too acute you cannot focus or get sharp photos. After several attempts I managed to get a couple of Marsh harrier photos. The glass has its benefits but also some disadvantages.
