For me I voted 7D because it has been the only camera I've had that has $%#$ me off big time
I've had a heap of canon cameras and over the years tended to read the threads about the ones I owned, for this reason I never read a lot about the 1DIII. Also because it was a camera so way out of my price range I just did not involve myself in it.
I now own
The 1DIII and love it, auto focus is perfect, its just a pity its only 10 megapixel because that's the only negative I see.
The 5DII for me, I've never seen banding ever.
And I own the 7D, its a camera I love and hate and I think is deserving of the controversy re noise. I get noise at low ISO in good light! But I keep this camera because it can produce stunning wildlife shots and I pray that 7DII will sort the noise issue out and I will buy it in a heart beat
Not the most controversial Canon, but the 20D had some banding issues when it first came out and there was an issue with the vertical grip not working properly. It seemed like it was always being discussed for months and months.
