Closer to wild than mild IMO Charlie.
Your processing seems to accentuate the spikiness of the flora.

2. Then stop.
Come to think of it, isn't that what Picasso did with all those plates he painted?

Joshua Tree gone bad?? I'm of the "screw around with it till you stop" school myself. Often the problem is knowing when to stop.

Look at it upside-down, Greg, and your eyes will uncross . But if your balance isn't very good, you can flip the pic upside down instead .
