Might be my last post here ,...
seems no one here likes anything from Aussie......disappointing
Thanks again Jefferson
I wouldn’t let it get to me…when the likes of John Thawley have fewer comments on their posts than a high school baseball…football…LAX…etc. get, not to take away from those posts…many more people are involved or want to be involved in that venue because of family or a relatives involvement, sales potential to the parents involved, they buy pics of their kids, … race car teams don’t have that much money…those posts will generate much more interest because that’s just the way it is…maybe 1% of posts here concern motorsports…just look at the types of styles involved in traditional sports…high ISO…shutter speeds to freeze action…how do I deal with lighting that cycle…you’re dealing with fast moving objects and need to shoot in a style that will reflect the speed and dynamic of your subject, not “how do I stop a ball in flight”…motor sports photography will incorporate portrait style, as paddock shots…action shots, as on track and how do I handle changing light conditions as a car or bikes orientation changes with respect to light as the subject changes direction and travels in and out of sun and shade… usually at a much greater velocity than a ball can be thrown or kicked…
Different animals…You will shoot low ISO on a subject traveling at high velocity with a 1/60 sec. exposure and expect to obtain a sharp image with a blurred background not as a result of aperture but from tracking the subject over whatever distance it traveled at a certain velocity rather than high ISO and a shutter speed of 1/640 sec or more to obtain the same sharpness and f/2.8 (you can combine the 2.8 and slow shutter speed if the light is right), for background blur…
Of course there is much more to each discipline…apply as required.
The two styles of sports are shot differently…then you have MX, Rally, Off Road…all are shot differently and require different skill sets…motor sports can be complicated…but fun…
Shoot and post because you like to…not for the praise of all the rest…
You get the general idea…
Just sayn’…now I’m in need of another cold one…so I’ll leave at that…got to go to the fridge…
