One of my big Matthews rollers has an integral grip head that I never use. The head is designed to hold hot-light modifiers like a scrim, and has a chunky 4½" dia. Last night I found another use. A fresnel could not aim downward enough because the yoke interfered, so I simply hoisted the entire stand and stuck it in the grip head! This maneuver worked because the head can be opened wide. Grip head is shown below from MSE web site (note junior fittings).
