p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Water For Life, Cambodia

The "Water for Life" project officially launched yesterday in the Kbal Tralac village in Kampong Speu Province. Its objective is to provide clean water for the villagers via biosand filters. The Sao Sary Foundation, in partnership with the Singapore International Foundation hopes to install the filters, educate their users and follow up with them to ensure proper use and maintenance. Speeches were given by the Kampong Speu Provincial governor, SIF chairwoman, SSF director and the Singapore Ambassador to Cambodia. All talked about their hopes for this project and the future of not only Kbal Tralac, but for villages across Cambodia in receiving hope for clean water in the future. A villager, Mr. Jung, spoke about how his biosand filter has improved his family's life. Traditional Khmer dancers from Phnom Penh provided entertainment for spectators.

From a photojournalist perspective, how does this compare to others? Too many photos, not enough? Does the content of the photos provide sufficient information about the event to the viewer?

Thanks for your input!
