As with the others, these large rams were along the Alaska Highway, in north-western British Columbia.

Is that what a "sheepish" grin is supposed to look like...it really looks like a stoned grin...hey Charlie...the 60's were a long, long time ago....Nice images by the way!

These and the others were shot with a non-zoom 400mm lens.
Generally I tried to stay close to my car- not for fear of the animals, but because I didn't want to disturb them. Hence the variance between close-ups and not-so close. If the animals moved toward me, or were really relaxed, I got closer. The big male was shy, and stayed a fair distance away.

Wonderful closer on this very enjoyable series. I love the first 2 shots.
However the second shot ihas a wonderful feel to it with the tones, composition and feeling of the herd. So where are you taking us next

Not sure where next, Birdie. As you know, I like a bit of story-telling with my posts whenever possible, so I'll do some planning for it. Until then, probably some potpourri images that I hope will work here.
