I can purchase a 2 year extended warranty direct from Canon Singapore. Costs approximately 12.5% of camera body MSRP as far as I've bought for both the 40D and 5DmkII.
The question is why would you want to buy one? They are expensive relative to the return you get from them, they don't cover the most common cause of problems, accidents. Use a credit card that doubles the manufacturer's warranty for free. American Express, Discover and a host of Master Cards and VISAs do.

Thats a good point and advice I normally follow and give out myself. I guess I'm just freaking out a bit as this is the most I've ever dropped on a body. Just an enthusiastic hobbiest worrying more than I should.
