I don't think canon do that.

You can (probably I think) get a mac warranty (maybe others as well)

Depends on your country. As far as I've seen its not available everywhere.

I can purchase a 2 year extended warranty direct from Canon Singapore. Costs approximately 12.5% of camera body MSRP as far as I've bought for both the 40D and 5DmkII.

They have this but I think it is only when you buy it at the same time as your camera purchase.

The question is why would you want to buy one? They are expensive relative to the return you get from them, they don't cover the most common cause of problems, accidents. Use a credit card that doubles the manufacturer's warranty for free. American Express, Discover and a host of Master Cards and VISAs do.

+1 for what Sportshooter said, unless you shoot so much that you expect to wear out the shutter.

Thats a good point and advice I normally follow and give out myself. I guess I'm just freaking out a bit as this is the most I've ever dropped on a body. Just an enthusiastic hobbiest worrying more than I should.
