Went to my first club rugby match which is rather new in my area. Enjoyed the fast paced action. Game was held at noon on a hot summer day. I photographed with 5DM3 & 400mm.

Believe it or not, with rugby ... a lot of times, you're actually better off shooting horizontal.

Waist down doesn't matter nearly as much in rugby I've found. Upper body works better, when you're shooting with a 4. It also opens up open field tackles 30 yards away shot horizontally. When I look through my best rugby photos over the years, almost all of them were taken in landscape.

Quality job on these, and great job on exposure though.

These photos were taken in Florida, I don't think any of them are international players.
