Try to open these files from BRIDGE in Camera Raw and it says:
'Camera Raw is not enabled.
Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature'
The same appears when I try to open 'Camera Raw Preference' in the EDIT drop down menu.

There is probably a simple reason but I can't find out.

Have you used Photoshop yet? That should get rid of the dialog.

Yes, used PS. Don't get rid of the dialog.

It is possible to use Photoshop without Camera Raw. I used it that way for years, converting by DPP. I still do almost all my conversions by DPP. Sometimes I will use conversions from both and combine them by layers and painting masks to transition in different parts of the image.

Have you used Camera Raw in Photoshop and saved a conversion that way, not merely opened Photoshop to edit a JPEG?

You have to set it up in the preferences dialog box first.

Good questions. All these Tiffs and Jpegs ran through Camara Raw in the first place. But not through this new ACR in CS6. Only through earlier CS 3, 4, 5 and Beta CS 6.

No access to this preference.

Camera Raw has not been accessed from Photoshop CS6. Give that a go and then exit completely from PS and Bridge and then retry Bridge.

All done but it still shows this note when I go to Menu File and drop down 'Open in Camera raw' or right click for the same in BRIDGE.
Anyway I can open now Tiff and Jpeg in Camera Raw by double clicking the photo in BRIDGE.
This should be because I checked the box "Double click Edits Camera Raw Settings in Bridge" in 'Preferences' in Bridge under 'General' and then 'Behavior".

Set a preference or add an entry via Preferences so that you can "Open in Photoshop CS 6". When you do that and open the Raw or TIFF that way, it will invoke Camera Raw, but may not provoke the note because it is going through PS to get to Camera Raw.
