Nice shot, how did you get the flash above the clouds?

It looks like the light from the clouds is just a dodge and burn, and has a very sharp falloff. I'd prefer to see rays of light for this effect, and a more gradual falloff.

Well, unless you were shooting on the planet Tatooine (the one with two suns), there is something a little off in this shot. One sun is just headed towards the horizon, and the other is directly overhead.

I think to make it look better, you could clone out the horizon sun and make it cloudy back there, so you are down to the one sun overhead. Or you could try and change the temp of the light around them to match the temp of the horizon sun....

I definitely would prefer a non-centered version with a narrower spotlight and balancing counter-element on the opposite third of the frame. The illuminated area covers way too much of the frame to be distinctly drawing the eye to the subjects IMO.

First reaction when seeing the image was disconcert.

I do not enjoy it much, thanks for sharing

Haha... I was messing with adjustment brush. I knew it was a bad idea but I did it anyway. I'll scratch the idea. I'll share the complete set in a few days.

Thats what I get for watching this forum when I have not slept. haha.

The centered / harsh shadows / all other aspects are a bit weak.... But I think your clients will likely love it.

I think there is a bit too much foreground. I would have gridded the flash or at least feathered it a bit, and framed the whole shot about 15% higher. Beautiful scene though.

First, I completely didn't notice the whole two suns thing.

Then, I didn't notice the background was actually a city, and not the ocean.

...I really need to stop browsing FM at 4AM

The second is much nicer.

I would drop the exposure just a little where the flash is hitting the ground as it draws the eye away from the couple and light them up more as you have in the first image. .

Since the thread got revived, I am re-editing and posting a crop that I prefer because it lacks the rather uninteresting foreground and focuses on the dramatic sky:
