Juniper (Juniper Respite Proper, to be proper) didn't know where
it flew from. He only knew that the Comanche feared it and its
taste for the flesh of errant young ones.

A dark one this, it was…strong and silent, coming only in the Hour
of the Wolf…snatching unannounced.

Piamempits the Cannibal, feathered as an owl..gaining strength
with each eating.

The poor red fox, seen here, surely had no chance.
