The only touch up paint for Canon White Lens I can find is on Ebay. Cost plus shipping is 17.00 for a tiny bottle.

I need just one pin head sized speck painted from nicking one with my monopod. Has anyone used this paint? Have you found a better source?
Did it work well and stay put?

If you have any experience with this I would appreciate your input. I don't want to make it worse.

I remember Roger Cicala from LensRentals mentioning here that they had found a brand name sharpie for the Canon black colour, maybe he has something for the white?

I got some OEM paint from somebody here on FM. My 300/2.8 non-is does not match the new paint color perfectly...the new paint is too white compared to the (probably) yellowed original paint

Kathy, for repair of a tiny spot of missing paint, that ebay stuff is probably OK.

Larger areas of missing paint are much more difficult to recoat well. Then, you'd need the original Canon lacquer, and much patience. Furthermore, when using a paint brush it is near impossible to mimic the speckled finish of the original factory paint job .

Thanks for the info everyone, I will order the ebay stuff and give it a try. It is really a small speck on the bottom rim but I thought filling it in would keep it from getting worse. I don't think mine has yellowed much if any. I am really careful with my equipment, it really ticked me off when I did it.

I actually bought a tin of paint from canon. I then got a spray painter to spray on my 500mm and now I cannot see where the paint chip was. He did a great job for me. I highly recommend purchasing it.

I rang canon CPS and they gave me the part number and phone number of their importers and I rang them. The part number is CY9 -8078-001

I presume it is the same part number as in the USA

Thanks, I will ring them up before I try ebay. I would rather go with the Canon unless it is crazy expensive.

Dupli-color Universal Flat Black Scratch Fix (NG SF 104) from Pepboys is very good match for touching up black bodies/lenses.

Good to know, I keep watching those wonderful 1DII's getting lower and lower, just might have to grab one of them one of these days just for fun. Could come in handy.
