I doubt there was a tree growing from his head. Don't let the local critics convince you otherwise. I think the dof is nice and would have probably caused enough separation to make it clear to even the most simple-minded viewers. (The ones who think trees grow from heads.) Nice photo overall. Looks like high sun and your fill is just enough. Nice job. Good tones and contrast for B&W.

Very nice portrait. Looks like it is duotone? Can't decide whether I like that or not.

I definitely prefer the straight bw version. you got a nice, relaxed look from him, the image feels a tad fuzzy/ too bright to me). That's a personal taste thing though. nice shot.

Good call benee, I backed off the middle slider in PS and it looks a whole lot better.....edited photo and gave you a byline

The first B&W is great. Why change it? The Benee edit just plain sucks. Trust yourself. You make a great image. Why are you listening to these guys?
