The capital city of the UK is hosting the best of the world's athletes, so I thought I'd pay my respects by posting a few images from my travels to that great city.
Go, Brits! I hope you win silvers to the US's golds in every event .

Shown are two images from Parliament Square. The second pic is of that greatest of all civilian war leaders (IMO)- the irascible cigar-chomping Winston Churchill.

Excellent BW series Charlie. I do wish that the statues face area could be lightened a bit in strategic areas so the facial features are more visible.

How was the pound to U.S dollar back then?

Thanks, Jason.
I agree about Winnie's face in shadow. Trouble is, there is VERY little detail for me to work with.
I don't remember the exchange rate all those years ago- except that throughout Europe and the British Isles the dollar was strong enough (in terms of the cost of goods and services) that I could stretch it pretty far. Otherwise my modest earnings in the US wouldn't have permitted my extensive travels.

The statue shot is kind of creepy, but I like it.

Thanks, Greg.
Churchill WAS an intimidating presence, but any "creepy" aspect of this must be due to the sculptor .
