If you want to pull the viewer by the nose away from the girl, along the converging lines to the high-contrast area with the yellow lights, then #1 is very effective at doing so. Thanks for the input guys, I suspected the choice would be number 2, I liked both of them, with regard to #1 I was probably just a bit too enamored with the bokeh of the lights, and hence some ridiculous internal need to highlight them...
