Yes, I was outside and the subject was inside I'm guessing I was about 4 or 5m away and the door was about halfway! (exif says 390/100 for subject distance - what does that translate to?) I think I prefer #2 - just has a bit more to it. I really like the look of these, a nice dreamy feel. I'm sure it will get used for some portraits in the future Aug 06, 2012 at 07:29 PM

Even with a large soft box or something, flash highlights in the eyes often ruin a natural light portrait for me. They virtually always look artificial - thus detracting from a natural portrait. Perhaps a reflector to add more light on the eyes is a way to go if one deems necessary? (for me the photo is fine.) Aug 07, 2012 at 11:27 PM
