Looking forward to this dropping, if only because it'll decrease the prices of D700s a bit. We've got two but I'm always looking for a backup.

If you call not being able to get a hold of one till 6-9 months after they announce it soon then yeah you'll have one soon.

As a sports guy I am excited to see the final specs... but my feeling is that the best thing it will do for me is reduce the cost of used D3 and D700's. My WISH is that I can get the same frame rate as the D700 with a grip, the high ISO performance of the D3s and video at least as good as the D7000.
