Guys,
A friend of mine will come to visit me here in LA from another country, and he wants me to take some of family pics of his family outdoor. (family of 5 just in case that makes any difference).
Do you Guys have any info/suggestion about nice location for family photoshoot in/around LA?

Head west young man.....go to the beach. Sunset beach photo session. Can't beat that.

Your profile shows that you live in LA, you should know that there are a huge number of options and that you need to share something a bit more specific than outdoor if you want good input.

Thanks for the input qwyjibo, but my friends also have no idea of what they want, they just say: family pics, outdoor

so I'm just trying to get as much idea as I can.

I'd also take a stroll through Little Tokyo. Some spots have lots of greenery/Japanese gardens and make for a great background. However, it can get really busy in some places so plan to head out early in the morning.

might I suggest: Kenneth Hahn Park

There's a pond, a stream, some hills, a japanese garden... and if you go to the top, there's a path that leads to a grass area where you can have downtown and the hollywood sign as the backdrop. A lot of possibility.

^ That's a good call too. Here are a couple of photos that I found from that area. Nothing great (and still replete with dust spots), but you can get an idea of the area/views.

There are literally hundreds of places you can take georgeous pictures around LA. Most prominent places i can think of:

Free Places:
Griffith Park
Gettys Museum
Fullerton Arboretum
Huntington Beach Central Park
Laguna Beach Heisler Park

Paid Places:
Huntington Library (Gardens) - This is the place but costs $20 per person.
LA County Arboretum
