p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Determining the shutter count on the 1DX

I had heard with the 1DX that you can actually see the shutter count on the back of the camera, but for the life of me, I can't find where that information is...

Anyone figured it out??

From the B&H website (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/827036-REG/Canon_5253B002_EOS_1D_X_EOS_Digital.html)

System Status Display Function Provides Critical Information
For optimal camera maintenance, The EOS-1D X's new System Status Display Function offers pertinent information about the camera's use and condition. In addition to displaying the camera's serial number and firmware version, the System Status Monitor also displays the total number of shutter release cycles (in thousands), a camera error log, which lists errors that may warrant service

If the camera is able to display the count in thousands, then why not display the exact actual count? It takes less code.

This makes total sense, I didn't know it displayed the count in thousands and was wondering why the battery count was different than the camera count.

... I would think one of the more important things to consider would be How much video use did the camera get ?
I have heard that things get pretty warm inside and heat sinks are used only in the C version.

Just a thought ...

I wonder why someone wrote code for the program, because it just doesn't make sense to me to nit-pick over 999 clicks, you know what I mean?

I have a feeling that Canon made the assumption that it won't matter to be precise when the shutter is rated at 400K and designed to be used heavily. I've got 180K on mine. Is anyone going to care whether it's 180000 or 180999? I doubt it.
