Hi,

Problem statement: I am struggling in finding a good day pack to use in city environment.
I want to carry my Canon 7D+70-200f4 mounted and an extra lens (24-105f4) + water bottle and some personal gear (cell phone, wallet, powerbar...).

Background: I currently own the LowePro FastPack 350, which is nice when I am doing day trip focus on photography (usually I go with 10-22, 24-105 and 100-400 mounted). It has a nice top section where I put my filters, food, personal items... Howevr I find it too big to carry around in city environment or more casual places (like going to see friends with some gear)

Options:
* I've looked so far to the Lowepro Flipside Sport 10L. Like the size but I do not like the lack of personal gear space, neither the special "camelback" section. I do not need a lot of extra gear space but better organized (and the 10L is done for 2.8, so too big camera section).
* Newly announced Lowepro Photo Hatchback 22L. Like the size too but I can not carry my 70-200f4.

What else do you recommend me to investigate

I carry a 5d, 70-200 and an extra lens loose with spare battery, filter pouch in a fanny pack. It is similar in size to a large detachable fanny pack found on large hiking packs except the back has stiff padding and a thicker waist strap/buckle. Packs tight, but perfect for me in this situation. I works great for lightweight traveling in town. Water bottle would be on outside web pocket. Found it at Marshall's two years ago on sale.

I get on well with a LowePro Toploader AW, using lens cases strapped on the side when needed.

Looked at my fanny pack today, putting my FF body and lens in it.
It is a Marmot Walkabout. Very portable for going around town

I just tend to use my camelbak H.A.W.G milspec edition around town and when out bush in Australia. Nice slim profile with loads of space for the camera gear and personal gear. I usually carry a 7D 70-200 f4, 17-55 and 430ex flash plus personal gear. Have just upgraded the 70-200 f2.8 Mkii and it appears to still fit ok as well.

Plus it has a 3L bladder in it.

PS I looked at heaps of camera backpacks but could never find one with easy access and a good division of space between camera and personal gear.
