Hi guys,

I asked this question before, but at the time no one had the camera yet. I just wanted to revisit this again. If I set the camera for multiple exposure bracketing for 7 shots (example -3 to +3) and set my shooting mode to continuous and press and hold my shutter button, it just snaps 5 shots, at 0, -3, -2, -1, +1. I have to press and hold it a second time to get the +2, and +3, but I think it cycles back to 0, -3, -2 for the rest of the 5 shot continuous mode. So I end up with like 10 shots for a 7 shot scene. And it really messes up the exposures I want for my post processing as it gets hard to tell which photos belong to which set.

Question is, is this a settings problem? How can I fix it?

EDIT: Could this be a card speed problem? I have a Sandisk Pro Extreme. While it's no UTMS 7, it's the next best thing.

Try using the 2 second timer?

Be careful about terminology. In the 5D3 manual it is not "multiple exposure bracketing". Multiple Exposures are one thing (pg. 177) and Automatic Exposure Bracketing (AEB) is another (pg. 170).

I think you mean AEB.

I just tried with my 5D3, and it works fine: high speed, 7 bracket, -3/+3, raw+S - it shot them in one smooth sequence with the trigger held down. Using Lexar 1000x CF card.

Well it's not that new to me, as I had it from the day it came out

now it has some 28k clicks, so even by that measure it's not new

I very much like it. It's the first small camera that delivers like the big ones used to, and I'm absolutely in love with it. At the same time I must say that since I got the 1DX on 7/6, this bracketing shot test is the first time I used it.
