So being a poor college student, I got a Chinese flash unit and while the E-TTL works magnificently off the hot shoe, I can't get wireless transmitters (non ST-E2) to trigger the flash unit. I know the transmitter is reaching the receiver because the receiver lights up whenever the transmitter is activated, but the receiver doesn't seem to be triggering the hot shoe of the flash. I know there's not going to be any specific experts on this because I got an offbrand, but is the receiver not sending a high enough voltage, or what? Again, it works fine off the hotshoe, with all the E-TTL functions.
