I took couple of pictures of these beauties in the back yard. I am new photography and posting these pictures in hope of getting some points to improve.

Welcome and nice first posting ! Nice composition in the first shot.
If you would stop down you would be able to increase your depth of field.

The more you shoot BFlies the better you will get. These are good for just starting out.

On trick to getting great shots of these guys is position yourself so that the subject is parallel the camera sensor with both wings upright. That way the whole bug will be in focus.
