Taken at the Paul Robeson Malcom X Academy in Detroit. While plenty of buildings around the city have been abandoned for a decade or more, this school was open as recently as last year. A fire (possibly arson, another common problem) caused damage to the 100+ year old building, and the students just never returned; one classroom still had a sign congratulating "Anthony" for being named Student of the Day. Countless others were littered with worksheets and pencils. Some classrooms still had teachers' names and assignments written on their chalkboards. This is a hallway filled with boxes of unused textbooks.
Thank you, Travis! Much appreciated. I posted a few other shots from the Photo Critique forum, but it hasn't gotten much traction. I might re-post them in the presentation forums. A few other shots were even better, but this was the one that screamed "Path" to me.
