Due to lack of rain, the water level in this small little pond is decreasing. The egrets and herons love this spot.
This one snowy, was trying to run everyone off. Quite entertaining to watch all the posturing, It worked, as no one wanted to fool with him and would take off.

For a bright white bird like this, you might want to try a bit more exposure compensation. -2/3 EV will probably do it though some recommend -1 EV. You will need to experiment. Another way is manual exposure though you seem at home with auto so try a bit more –EV first.

Thank you Morris, much appreciated. You know I normally shot in manual. I was trying out shutter priority since the lighting was changing so much , so quickly . I am still experimenting that is for sure
