There are now some amazing native m43 lenses. I would not get the Lumix 7-14/4 if I were you - the CA and flare issues are quite bad. I would wait for Olympus to bring out their 7-14/2.8 lens next year or consider the Olympus 9-18 lens instead.

Check out this thread, as it says a lot about how good m43 really is:

Well, initially I'm shooting everything on a Panasonic body which is supposed to compensate for the CA on the 7-14, isn't it? I know the Oly doesn't but I was under the impression the Panasonic does.

The big problem is I need it 'now', not some date next year or even 2016. Either that or I have to buy a new ultra wide for my C100.

I'll take a look at the Oly 9-18, but it's not a constant aperture which I hate big time.

I believe it will correct for distortion but I don't know if it will correct for CA and flare. You could perhaps rent one and play with it for a bit to see if you like it. Shoot it with the sun in the frame or just outside the frame, and see what happens when you import the images into your computer.

the 7-14 is otherwise a very nice lens. I have one and have shot a lot of great photos with it, but the CA and flare + purple blobs bug me a lot!

Thanks Bobby. I'm going to look at the Oly simply because of size and it's also cheaper, and because I'm thinking seriously about picking up an OM for photos since the GH4 will likely remain a video body most of the time, but it's a decision I'm going to have to make fairly soon. That extra width is pretty important to me on internal shots though, something I seem to be doing lots of lately

Last nights from Gilbert, AZ. The first four are with a Lumix 100/300 lens, the fifth is with a Canon FDn 400 F4.5 lens.

Very impressive images of the 9-18mm OLY. I have the 7-14mm Lumix lens. How do they compare ? Is the OLY a better choice (sharpness) ?

I only own the 9-18, but I guess that Lumix has better corner to corner sharpness, but also some issues, as already said...

Oly is a cheap, light, problem-free gem; unluckily 9mm is waaaay different from 7mm

Took my Olympus EM10 with me to try out my new 12-40mm f2.8 Pro. Expensive lens for me so I wanted to justify the price. I was impressed with this lens
Mostly processed on my Galaxy Pro 10 tablet using Snapseed. Great app! The second two were from a beachfront park in West Islip, on the other side of the bridge from the first photo, and much closer to the Captree bridge.

Agree. I believe the 7-14 is significantly bigger but it's not a huge lens. Constant f4 aperture is nice. But it won't take filters - well it can, but the filter option is both expensive and cumbersome. The 7-14 range is really nice and compliments the 12-40 PRO very nicely. I would highly recommend the new 7-14/2.8 PRO. I will definitely replace my 7-14 with the Olympus version. The IQ should be real close to the Nikon 7-14 which is a stellar lens.

One of the first shots with my E-M1 with 12-40 2.8 that i bought from a user here at FredMiranda..
Will use it for a photo shoot next week since the weather report is all rain and my A7 or RX1 will not be of that much use when its pouring down..
I'll see if i keep it or sell it afterwards (also planning on picking up the 75 1.8 before the shoot).

The camera + lens feels good so far, but totally different from my A7 so have to study and learn during the weekend. I like the responsiveness and the AF looks to be great, the AF tracking i've played around with.

Does anyone of you use AF tracking for people shots, e.g. focus on the face and then have the AF tracking follow it around, does it work ok?

A few shots from my first day out with my 75 1.8 and E-M1
So far the best feature is that it's so small and light compared to a full frame 150mm
