I had been salivating over the A7r … but not anymore. After seeing all the issues e.g. loud shutter and irritating beeps on self-timer that you cannot stop, adaptor problems … and above all - no really good/fast/compact AF lenses, I am no longer in awe or have any more desires. The E-M1 on the other hand, is maturing and getting better and better, especially with the new line of PRO lenses and superb and fast prime lenses. The E-M1 will do it all - from ultra-wide to medium telephoto. Of course will you not get the resolution from a Zeiss Otus lens on the A7r … but do I really need all that resolution? Not me!

Small story that some of you might find interesting:
Most of the alt forum is about the A7(r) now. I tried them both, but I kept grabbing the E-M1 that was also on display. I guess that says something about the E-M1. Apart from the sensor I think it's just a better, more refined camera which I enjoy shooting more. It made me realize that I'm actually happier with m4/3 than I had ever imagined a year ago. I also own the amazing FF RX1, but that doesn't change a thing. m4/3 get's me the shots that I miss with the Sony and while the IQ is not as good as FF... it's still very good.
