I would seriously take my 40D back over my 50D any day!! The 40D took much cleaner shots with less noise than my 50D.

Do you mind telling us what shutter speed gave such nice blur on the wheels while keeping the rest sharp?

These were at: 1/200, 1/200, 1/500. These guys were on treaded tyres not racing slicks due to the rain so even 1/500 wasn't enough to freeze them!

JD, Jim, this was the first time i really rated the 40d over my 1000d. Most of the other images are pretty similar IQ & focus wise (to be expected), but the shots from this weekend blow the 1000d out the water. I had no keepers with the the 1000d.

Interesting you say you prefer the 40d to the 50d. If i could have afforded the 50d i would have gone for that due to the MFA, but what's the point of that if the files aren't as good!

Very nice. I thought that Haga would do better this year. I have some shots of me from my old club racing days so it brings back nice memories. Not sure how close you got to the track, but you captured great intensity, especially the eyes of Scassa and Marino.

Glad you like them, I've been out of touch with bike racing recently, but this was just up the road. Do you still do track days?

I think we were about 20m from the track at the hairpin and about 10 at the straight where the last shot was taken.

You really can see how focused they are, but I have one shot where it looks like Scassa is looking directly at the camera!

The focus is amazing. I think that most people don't understand the physical and mental preparation that goes into the sport. As for me, I still race the old 125 a few times a year, but the competitive spirit has given way to the camaraderie with my fellow 2 stroke racers. Get your knee down, good fun, maybe a win or two and a cold beer after the last race.
