p.1 #1 · Long Beach engagement session - C&C

Here's an engagement shoot I did a few weeks back.

I'd love to get some C&C. There are some things I'm happy with, a lot more I am not. But I'd love to hear your take.

Thanks!

p.1 #2 · Long Beach engagement session - C&C

1 - Different, so good for variety, but I find it hard to connect with 1a.
2 - 2a, his head is peeking out/cut off. Her eyes look mangled in it too, not sure what happened there. I like 2b, although he seems a little awkward.
3/4 - both work well.
5 - 5a would have been nice to get her expression in that one, but 5B does that well.

From this point on I actually love or really like the rest of them. So perhaps the beginning is just you both warming up (I mean that in the nicest way possible btw).

Solid set. Take my comments with a pinch of salt, as you already know I love your work so just trying to offer something useful.

Thanks Richard!

I totally missed that mangled eye thing, but now that you mentioned it, it is pretty weird. I'll photoshop that out.

I did a bunch of things wrong on the shoot (especially in the beginning. Should have shot more, used a wider lens, stopped down more...), but hopefully I'll learn from my mistakes (I better!)

Focus is soft on some of these but that is the nature of film...
These are great. Seriously.
I love how you see things as well you have some really great "natural" stuff in here.
I would not change a thing.

Thanks Doug. They're also soft because I was shooting wide open, I need to try underexposing a bit, the portras can handle it.

I like the natural stuff, but I need to work on the poses a bit...

Wow. These are impressive.

16 is stunning. Easily my fav. 21 a close second.

I'm a fan.
