p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Location Corporate shoot, shot down by security | |
i was contracted by an international company to photograph some group portraits at a La Jolla corporate office building.
I've done jobs for this company in the past at their office locations with no issues. All of their offices are located in hi rise corporate type hi end locations, Irvine, La Jolla, etc.
We normally shoot outdoors in the courtyard area that normally have beautiful fountains and landscaping.
Today while I was setting up security came out and said there was no photography on the grounds, per the Irvine Corporations policy. I had the location regional president talk to them and they told him the same thing.
So I was forced to photograph 15 adults in suits in their boardroom using a wide angle lens. Not exactly what I drove down there for. I just assumed that the corporate office that hires me had taken care of matters like this.
They'll still get my bill, but in the future, I'll make sure to make sure THEY have gotten
authorization from the property owner. Something easily overlooked when past shoots have gone on with no drama.
