I agree, this is not a peregrine. It looks more like a red tailed hawk, peregrines have a distinct yellow eye ring, plus an extra "tooth" in the upper beak which is quite distinctive.

Thanks... I could not tell a buzzard from a hubcap without a picture... According to the landowner it is a "Kestrel", or " The American Kestrel (Falco sparverius), sometimes colloquially known as the Sparrow Hawk, is a small falcon, and the only kestrel found in the Americas. It is the most common falcon in North America," (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)... You are correct... Not a Peregrine... I failed to do my research...

Some of the images I got show a yellow circle around the eyes, but the landowner says it is a Kestrel... Thank you

As I was processing the image I just could not get it the way I wanted... After 8 tries I got it and immediately had my wife confirm it as a keeper...Thank you...
