| p.1 #1 · It's all about the light! |
When in Botswana the safaris are almost always on private concessions and so you can go out as early and come back in as late as you please. This is really nice, because then you can be out in the field well before sunrise, have found some good looking animals, and then get them as the light comes good. And similarly, as the sun sets, you can just sit there and wait -- knowing you are probably going to miss happy hour and maybe even that really expensive dinner you are paying for -- so that you can get the great sunset light. In Tanzania, they generally don't open the parks until 7am and require that you be out by dusk -- and this makes it difficult. But I have found a couple of places that have exceptional game and where there is tent camping within the ranger station posts -- that means there is not the restriction on entry and exit times that is so often so restrictive. Anyone interested in these locations, just PM me.
Hope you enjoy this one -- late sunset light.
