p.1 #1 · changing 3/8" mount to 1/4" mount: how to...

I have a unipod that I want to use to hold up a video light with a 1/4" mount. The pod has a 3/8" mount and then inside of it is a 1/4" mount, which I want to use. But how do you take off the 3/8" mount? I thought about using pliers, but I don't want to ruin it in case I want to use the pod with my D4.

Any ideas? Surely someone's dealt with this.

Generally such things have a slot that you can use a flat screw drive to remove. See for example.

there are a "few" adapters that the base is 3/8 and top is 1/4

It's spring-loaded I'd wager. Push down on the outer threads.

no wager neede it is spring loaded and is simply push and screw down. enjoy.
