p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · slight off-topic: ovenbird and towhee population crash in n. NJ the last two years?

I was just wondering if anyone noticed Rufous-sided/Eastern Towhees going from common for years to suddenly rare last year to none this year. And ovenbirds going from super common in backyard woods for years to suddenly none this year! (I saw one stop by the backyard woods one day during migration but that was it. As far back as I can remember their calls would ring out from woods non-stop all late spring and early summer and this year, boom, zero!)

I'm in a still somewhat forested area of northern NJ.

I was wondering something just happened to the ones right in my immediate area or if others have noticed anything suddenly going totally amiss with those two species.
