This was taken in the crater, the Ngorogoro Crater. Not what it once used to be with many road closures and many cars -- but still probably the best place in the world to see a huge slice of African wildlife in a single day. Recommend as the first stop in Tanzania to anyone who is a first timer -- you can check animals of your bucket list almost as fast as you can write -- and after that you can concentrate on serious game watching which takes time and patience.
These two big boys are almost certainly brothers from the same litter and they are joint CEO's of one of the two large prides that operates in the crater. Sometimes you will see a dad with one or more fully mature sons -- but since these two are almost identical they will be bros. And it is amazing how often they rub together like this -- probably have as many shots of this behavior as I do of them yawning. Anyway, hope you enjoy.
