Amazing shots!! 2 and 3 are outstanding ,
Does one stick around to try and determine if the charge is a bluff? Don't think I would want to be the subject of the stare or the stance

waldr_p: Glad you like them. It was a great opportunity. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
birdied: Running in front of a bluff turns the bluff into a real chase. So unless you are confident you can outrun the bear (eg. you are a 1/3 of the distance between the bear and shelter), you have to stand up to him. Thats why bearspray works - you have to stand your ground to use it, which calls his bluff. So I have rationalized taking pictures to the end Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
B Benson: It is a great story so far after a tough start. Hopefully he will have a great summer. The rangers are scaring him off when he gets close to the road to encourage him not to cause trouble with tourists that lead to his death. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott
harland: Hi Darryl. Hope the pictures are going well in Oregon. Glad you like them. Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. Scott

Great shots, but there is something disturbing and distracting about the background in shots 1, 2, & 3, which perhaps needs softening to provide separation from the excellent captures of the Grizzly.

Went: Thats a good suggestion. The trouble with these shots was that to get a dark bear at mid day, I had to choose either the bear exposure or the background exposure. Bluring the background might improve. Thanks for the suggestion. Much appreciated. Scott
