Here's a recent image of a species I love spending time with, the Western Bluebird. I photographed him at a nest site in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia. Spending time at a nest site really allows you to observe the species' behaviours and unique mannerisms. Food transfers, contact calls, territorial disputes, communication with nestlings from outside the cavity, lots of cool stuff to be seen. Photographing during the breeding season is really exciting, can't wait to get out some more with the camera during my time working in the field.
