p.1 #1 · A different view of the solar eclipse

As the light shined through the foliage of a feathery tree, the tiny holes acted sort of like a pinhole camera and projected many images of the eclipse on surfaces.

Very cool phenomenon captured Norm. I looked for that here in SoCal but couldn't see it nearly as clear as you did.
Well done and thanks for sharing these pics.

Kirk,d

Glad you liked it. Since I didn't have proper protection for my eyes I wanted to get some sort of a record of the event.

Kewl patterns of light Norm

Funny story.. Or maybe not

My wife and I were outside doing some work on our lawn watering system. We both looked at each other and said....... Why's the light so weird at 6 PM..... It's light.... But yet it's dark..
Then we both remembered the eclipse. Yup getting old sucks But we must not be to bad off...... We remembered

Thank you Birdie, Not all that clever, it was something I learned years ago for viewing without actually looking at the sun.

Excellent captures Norm. Good on ya for seeing these patterns. Too often we are focused on the event and we miss the periphery. Great eyes to have seen this Norm. But then you demonstrate a ton of creativity in all of your images.

Speaking of creativity, I am on the phone with my oldest daughter who just told me that she and my son-in-law are expecting their first child and our FIRST grandchild. Whoooo Hooooo!

Thanks for the kind words Alan,
Congratulations as to your new grandadary status.

My photos were a spur of the moment decision. I knew I couldn't get a direct shot of the event but I decided to take the pin hole method. Armed with a cardboard with a pinhole in it I went outside to see where I could project the image. Then I saw the natural pinhole images projected all over the place
