p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · a few raptors and a wench (12)

I went to a Renaissance Fair today, and one of the many photo options were the Raptors. They were let loose to fly across the arena to a different handler or a perch, then given a piece of quail meat. It was great to see these beautiful birds, and every time I do so my respect for them grows. One of the Harrier hawks is over 13 years old, found by one of my friends wounded and dying. He took her in and the bird decided to stay with his family after healing. She is the brown Harrier hawk, pictures 4, 10, 12..

Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 70-300d ed screw drive

Here are some of the pictures, any comments welcome.

Thanks Tom, it was a thrill. The 70-300 helped bring the shots in, and I was glad to have it. One of the members of the photo group I belong to complained that his 70-200 did not have sufficient reach. But I envied those guys that were using the white lens - 100-400 L Canon thing.

Thanks for the comment

Joe
