Awesome shot mate, really shows how well the 85 can render
Just did a few more test shots in my back yard. When I shot up into the trees, with strong backlight from the sun, I noticed (even on the back of the camera) some severe purple fringing. So, I grabbed my Tamron 70-200mm 2.8 and took some shots with most of the same settings (but @ f2.8 instead of f1.8). The Tamron was very noticeably better with the purple fringing. Maybe I have a bad copy? (These are heavily cropped.)
I have been waiting for this lens for months, and now I'm wondering if it is the step up from what I have that I expected it to be. Your thoughts, please!
Not to change the subject but my 85 1.4G seems to have really strong CA. Is that pretty common with the 1.4G? It has me thinking about making the switch to the 1.8 which looks like a great performer for the money.
