p.1 #1 · Screech Owlet

~While everyone is visiting the Burrowing Owl nests, I am giving this screech owlet some love. This owl is probably my favorite species from the Florida region because it is harder to find and photograph them. I have been following this nest since last year. It is that time of the year.

Camera Nikon D3S
Exposure 0.001 sec (1/800)
Aperture f/8.0
Focal Length 200 mm

Very interesting image Troy. Cute little guy with funky looking feet... what's got his attention?
At 200mm he doesn't seem too bothered by you making him famous on FM.
Well done.

Kirk, this youngster is curious about anything that is going on....from Blue Jays Cardinal and any noises.

Don,

So far, the parents usually went in and feed inside the nest.
To get them feeding outside the next would take years.
