Definition of PERCH
1: a bar or peg on which something is hung
2a : a roost for a bird
b : a resting place or vantage point : seat
c : a prominent position <his new perch as president>
Funny, it doesn't say 'branch'
Sorry Don, had to get that in there
Maybe it's me but somehow barbed wire works often as a most acceptable 'perch' for 'me' It is uncluttered, has nice patina much like a well weathered piece of wood and it isn't something you find in your backyard feeder area so it also ties in nicely to to larger spans of land and the 'outdoors'.
Great BG's Tim, superior color rendition as well as feather detail. Such an elegant light in #2. Love those BB's !
Nice surprise to find the marching CA Quail, I think you even caught the one in the BG in a marching step
Take care.....

Definition of PERCH
You know Karl, last year the barbed wire perches really bugged me when I was there. This year it just seemed normal. It sure is natural to the birds!! I do agree with you about the patina, shiny and new would suck!
The backgrounds are nice in that area you just have to shoot from high enough so that you don't get all sky. The BB's are such pretty birds, just seeing them is a treat for the eyes. Indeed the Quails were on the march
Thanks Karl!!
