Because AgeoJO complained of this thread being buried, I dug it out.
After reading about the Brenizer method I decided to make a C3 with the following AF setup:
Shutter release just metering,
AF-On for focusing on registered AF point (left 2/3rds of screen),
* button for focusing on selected Af point (different from pre-selected, more to the right 2/3rds of screen,
M-Fn for metering-Hold (I actually hit this one for metering the face or any other important parts, spot mode. But i could leave the Metering at Evaluative and go with the AF point metering.
SET for ISO
mRAW for better clarity and lower noise and shorter processing time.
HiSpeed Silent
And then I just fire off around the subject starting at the face. It's fun

Your custom settings were really helpful. One question: what does "AF sections available" mean? 3 AF choices are available, but one is default? Not clear how/where to set that up, and how you toggle between them in a custom mode.
