Being a student who will graduate soon, I am preparing for a raid on my university software store. One of the products I wanted was the CS design suite.
Since it is not likely that CS6 will be released by the time I graduate, I am thinking about buying CS5.5. However, Adobe has their "complimentary upgrade" policy where if you buy CS5.5 from march till early may, you can get a free upgrade to CS6 when it comes out.
My question is, for those of you who have used this upgrade program in the past, do you get an upgrade or replacement of the product you purchased?
For example, I buy the CS5.5 design premium suite. This is a "full verison" so I do not need any prior adobe product or producy key to install it. With the "CS6 upgrade" program, do I get a new "full version" of CS6 that I can install straight off, or do I just get a CS5.5 to CS6 upgrade key, so that I have to install CS5.5, and then upgrade it to CS6 every time I need to reinstall the software?
Lastly, sort of off topic but is there any meaningful difference between Photoshop and Photoshop extended, if your photoshop usage is photographic in nature? Some of the package products include PS extended, while others only include the standard PS.
Thanks
Norman
